NASHVILLE, TN – Cheekwood is thrilled to announce LIVE! at Cheekwood, with five outdoor concerts on our beautiful grounds from June through October. Music lovers will rejoice as they sit in the company of thousands of blooming plants beneath the starlit summer sky while listening to the music of world-renowned musical artists. Situated inside the gates voted one of the Top Ten Public Gardens by Southern Living readers and a Fodors Destination of Choice, Cheekwood offers unrivaled ambience for live music.
“LIVE! at Cheekwood will be a truly magical experience for everyone,” said Claire Corby, Cheekwood’s Director of Marketing and Communications. “The magnificent installations by acclaimed artist Dale Chihuly are on display throughout the gardens, and will be reflected brilliantly over the pond behind the stage, creating a dramatic back drop for the nighttime concerts.”
Cheekwood will kick off the season with performances by two phenomenal, Grammy Award-winning singer songwriters, Shawn Colvin on June 10, followed by Joan Baez on July 29. Organized by Rick Whetsel of Great Big Shows, additional dates and performances will be announced soon. Please visit LiveatCheekwood.com for updated concert information.

Shawn Colvin mesmerizes listeners with her slow-release works of craft and catharsis. Colvin is both a keen and warm-hearted story-teller, weaving intimate, personal, and often hilarious stories into her musical performance. In the 19 years since the release of her debut album, Colvin has won three Grammy Awards, released eight albums, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures, and created a remarkable cannon of work.
Joan Baez has performed publicly for over 50 years, released over 30 albums and recorded songs in at least eight languages; she remains a musical force of nature whose influence is far reaching. Known for her social and political activism throughout the world, Baez chronicles moments from her long and storied career in her music—which is to say at crucial moments in America’s history over the past five decades—she has recorded and released live performance albums that have served as critical barometers of our times. She has received countless awards throughout her extensive career, including the distinctive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007, for her significant contribution to the recording industry.
