PERSPECTRUM: Cheekwood + 219 5th Avenue

October 6 - October 31 2012
Cheekwood is proud to participate in Artober Nashville this year with its first pop-up gallery featuring a unique two-part exhibition, Perspectrum. During the month of October the exhibition will be split into two locations, Cheekwood’s courtyard gallery as well as a 219 5th Avenue, a temporary space in the downtown arts district. Curated from files containing rarely seen works on paper, Perspectrum focuses on the second half of the 20th century including Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. Highlights include works from greatly influential artists, Robert Rauschenberg, Peter Phillips and Andy Warhol. The courtyard gallery at Cheekwood will feature black and white works on paper, with the pop-up location showcasing work in brilliant and expressive color. Opening October 6th for the first Saturday art crawl, the two-part exhibition will run concurrently throughout the month.
