Selections from Cheekwood’s permanent collection include niche collections of fine and decorative art spanning centuries and continents. This exhibition will highlight key acquisitions over the span of sixty years.
1958-2018: Sixty Years of Collecting at Cheekwood presents a trajectory of institutional collecting that began in 1958 with the inaugural gift of snuff bottles from the collection of Mrs. Willie DeMoville Thompson and ends with the most recent acquisition, a never before publicly exhibited sculptural work by William Edmondson.
The exhibition traces the evolution of Cheekwood’s permanent collection by highlighting key acquisitions, gifts and milestones that have shaped the past 60 years.
