Wellness 360 Talk: Herbs for Cooling Teas with Herb Society of Nashville

Sunday, July 11
12 PM — 1:30 PM
Herb Study Garden

Join the Herb Society of Nashville and Leah Larabell for a fun afternoon learning how to beat the heat with delicious herbs and teas. In this drop-in style talk, Leah will introduce you to several herbs known as “refrigerants” or cooling herbs. These herbs help your body cool down when the heat is high. Not only will you learn which herbs offer this amazing benefit, but Leah will also demonstrate how to craft them into delicious sun teas, iced teas, oxymels and popsicles. You will learn how to go from garden to glass with ease.

This talk will be held in the Herb Study Garden, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be relocated indoors. Please note that neither Cheekwood nor the Nashville Herb Society advise or recommend herbs for medicinal or health use. This information is intended for educational purposes only and should not be considered as a recommendation or an endorsement of any particular medical or health treatment.

Leah Larabell is a nature loving wife, mother and daughter who finds a great deal of purpose and value in sharing her love for the land. Leah and her husband Joel own High Garden Herbal & Tea Craft and High Garden School of Root Wisdom, both geared toward helping others return to the wild one step at a time and bring plant wisdom back into the home. She is a forever student of the land and inspired to share with anyone interesting in relationship with nature and carrying this ancient wisdom forward.
