When the sun goes down, the gardens light up for the prettiest holiday stroll of the season, featuring one mile of lights, photo opportunities, and unique lights displays throughout our beautiful botanic gardens.
There’s only one place in Nashville that has real reindeer – Cheekwood! Two of Santa’s most trusted companions will be visiting from the North Pole every night of Holiday LIGHTS and during our daytime hours. Stop in for a chat with the Reindeer Keeper and grab seasonal food and drink, like hot chocolate and cider, along with hot toddies, beer, wine and liquor.
All decked out for the season, classic holiday decorations bring out the beauty inside and outside the Historic Mansion & Museum, featuring a 20’ tall poinsettia tree and art exhibits currently on display in the art galleries including Selections from The Cheekwood Collection and Umwelts 2019 (As The Crow Flies): David Brooks.
All aboard the North Pole Express!
Hop aboard at Cheekwood’s new train depot featuring a slide, climbing net and more for the kiddos all surrounded by an immersive, larger than life train display all lit-up for the season.

This year, Cheekwood will provide a festive display of one of America’s most popular holiday customs, Christmas trains. Holiday LIGHTS Express: Antique Toy Trains is an exhibition of model trains from the 1920s and 1930s set in the traditionally decorated Cheekwood Recreation Room.
