October 14 & 21
7:15 PM – 7:35 PM & 8:15 PM – 8:35 PM
Martin Boxwood Gardens
Come dressed to glow during this special event, part of our Thursday Night Out series!
Neon Nights is an immersive outdoor dance performance by New Dialect inspired by the invisible fluorescent light flowers emit as they’re dying—what some have called “the secret color of flowers.” Neon Nights will celebrate this secret light and the fading light of autumn by juxtaposing the natural granduer of the grounds during harvest season with the allure of a glowing neon garden. Guest will be free to immerse themselves in the scene, to move about during the performance, so that the gardens become a stage and, by turn, the stage becomes a dancefloor.
Choreography by Banning Bouldin with creative design & choreography by David Flores, objets d’art by New Hat, music curated in partnership with QDP, and lighting design by Michael Brown.
Underwritten by Julia Carell Stadler Foundation.
Viewing access is limited (standing room only). Line begins 15 minutes before each performance at the top of the driveway in front of the Historic Mansion & Museum.
