Refresh your mind, body, and spirit by practicing mindful movement in the open outdoors at Cheekwood!

Advanced registration is required. 

For the safety of our staff, tickets will not be sold on-site at this time and all guests, including members, must reserve a timed-entry ticket online. Members will still receive free admission based upon membership level, but they must have a reserved ticket in order for Cheekwood to manage safe capacity.

Please note, we advise that you arrive 15-20 minutes prior to class time in order to get parked and to the garden location on time for your class.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Join Jo-Jo Jackson (ERYT), The Yogi Bassist, for a guided morning meditation experience. Learn how to use visualization cues, breathing techniques, and sound to quiet your mind, relieve stress, and experience a sense of calm. No prior experience is necessary, and all abilities are welcome. 

Classes will be held in the Viewing Pavilion of the Blevins Japanese Garden, weather permitting. In the event of rain, participants will be notified of cancellation. Please dress comfortably and bring your own blanket. In accordance with physical distancing and health precautions, no blankets will be provided, participants will remain six feet apart. Class size is limited to 15 participants.

Small World Yoga

Back by popular demand, this class aims to build mental awareness and challenge your flexibility, balance, and strength. Participants will be guided by Small World Yoga instructors through vinyasa sequences and breathing cues. This class is suited for intermediate practitioners but is open to all levels 

Classes will be held on Swan Lawn behind the Cheek Mansion, weather permitting. In the event of rain, participants will be notified of cancellation. Please dress comfortably and bring your own yoga mat and water bottle. In accordance with physical distancing and health precautions, no mats will be provided, participants will be spaced six feet apart, and instructors will not make any hands-on adjustments.

SOLD OUT - Shinrin-Yoku Forest Bathing for Beginners

Explore a unique way to heal your mind, body, and spirit in nature through Shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of forest bathing. These slow, gentle walks feature accessible, sensory activities that encourage participants to deepen their connection to the natural world. Certified ANFT guide and owner of Forest Therapy Nashville Georgia Bromehead will guide participants through mindful prompts and invitations to “bathe” in the present moment, reducing stress and increasing immune functions. No prior experience is necessary, and all abilities are welcome in this introductory class.

Classes will meet on the boardwalk of the Carell Trail, weather permitting. In the event of rain, participants will be notified of cancellation. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing for both walking and sitting and bring your own water bottle. Sunscreen, bug spray, and hats are encouraged. In accordance with physical distancing and health precautions, participants will remain six feet apart.
