Artist-in-Residence (AIR)

Cheekwood Estate and Gardens announces a call for submissions for the 2023 Martin Shallenberger Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Series.

The Cheekwood Martin Shallenberger Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Series is an initiative focused on bringing innovative, dynamic, and intriguing artists to the city of Nashville, Tennessee, for a coveted opportunity to produce an interpretive site-specific exhibition at one of the city’s leading art institution and botanical gardens, Cheekwood. The AIR series invites an artist to create on the estate for a full month (four weeks) and presents them an opportunity to display their works in an indoor and/or outdoor exhibition.

Throughout the residency, the artist will be offered an environment or studio space in which they are able to work. Works produced will be installed with the assistance of the Cheekwood curatorial staff.
