Cheekwood is considered one of the finest American Country Place Era estates in the nation. The extraordinary 1930s estate, with its Georgian mansion and 55 acres of cultivated gardens and expansive vistas, today serves the public as a botanical garden, arboretum, and museum with historic rooms and art galleries. Cheekwood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, and is a USA Today Top 10 Botanical Garden.

The Progressive Tour is a self-guided visit. Guests can stroll our 12 distinct gardens and 1.5-mile long woodland trail featuring modern and contemporary outdoor sculpture; as well as experience our museum to view the period furnished historic rooms and featured art exhibitions. After your tour, we will gather on our Frist Lawn Garden for a glass of wine or beer, served with a selection of fresh fruit, assorted cheeses and gourmet crackers.  Please allow 2 to 2 ½ hours; guided tours are available for an added fee.

Your time at Belle Meade Mansion & Winery will include a guided tour of the 1853 Mansion where a century of Belle Meade’s history unfolds. Additionally, after the guided tour is complete, your group will be escorted to the Winery for a complimentary wine tasting of our award-winning wines.  Complete your time at Belle Meade with lunch served in the 1800’s Carriage/Stable House…the perfect ending to a memorable tour.
