Verse and Vision, a Graphic Arts exhibition of works on paper from Cheekwood’s permanent collection, will be displayed alongside poems written in response to the 12 works of art. The exhibition forms a thoughtful connection between two distinct artforms in celebration of the creative spirit, further connecting the viewer to the artwork.

Ekphrasis, which means “description” in Greek, is used to describe the exercise of reflecting upon a work of visual art through poetry. We invite you to find inspiration and immerse yourself in the harmonious blend of visual art and literary art, where the beauty of language meets the power of imagery.
