“Smoky Mountain Spring”
As long as your allergy medication is on hand, what more is there to love than a Tennessee spring? Each corner of this beautiful state is an artist’s dream. As a painter, I feel so lucky to live here and to be inspired every day. I hope when people view this, they can feel a conjoined excitement for a Tennessee spring.

Brette Williamson is a fine artist based in Nashville, Tennessee, specializing in live wedding painting. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts and Art Education. In June 2023, Brette took a bold leap, leaving her office job to pursue painting full-time. Just months later, in January 2024, she and her husband welcomed their baby girl, completing their family. Now, she spends her weekdays caring for her three children and her weekends capturing love stories on canvas. She has since had the privilege of painting for a number of celebrities and has been featured in Nashville Voyager and People magazine.

“Treasure of the Garden”
I engage with patterns to establish connections with individuals who may experience various emotions in the world. Many individuals have felt isolated, particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic; however, fostering a sense of familiarity can help close these divides. Art serves as a medium to communicate with others when physical presence is not possible. My objective is to embed memory within my work, allowing the audience to reflect on their experiences and seek connections to what they may have encountered previously. To maintain an element of intrigue and contemplation, I have intentionally designed certain marks to render the patterns unrecognizable.

“Peace, Love, & Nature”
I am an acrylic artist and performance painter deeply inspired by the life and work of two individuals, Jane Goodall and Jerry Garcia. Nature and music have always been areas I could depend on, no matter what was happening around me. The legacy they both have created is one of community, coexistence, and a greater love, all which I admire and flourish in. My artwork is built on a mountain of colors, happy mistakes, and in return, the process of layering. As a previous schoolteacher and lover of diversity, I want my art to convey the endless positive possibilities of actively choosing to work together with all living things. Peace, Love, and Nature is a friendly and happy piece that represents the rebirth of a new season and reminds us of our connection and awe for the natural world. Spring in itself is a playful breath of fresh air, all which I hope is felt when you view the art.

“Meadow Moss Bunny”
This year’s bunny reflects the beauty found in the fields adjoining the many wooded landscapes of the area. Middle Tennessee forests and surrounding meadows host lush mosses and vivid, naturalized flowers like Daffodils and Paperwhite Narcissus. I chose a “living” bunny to represent the call to joy of Tennessee’s amazing Spring. Return to the timeless, natural world. Allow the vibrant hues and textures offered by the season to inform the senses. Relax into a more present mind-frame that remembers the simple pleasure of soft moss and brightness of Spring flowers. Be in the moment that the natural world around us provides and most of all, celebrate life.

“Sprung”
“Sprung” is a vibrant tapestry that celebrates the exuberance of spring through a harmonious blend of materials and techniques. The piece features bright colorful yarns, metal, glitter, vinyl, and felt, each meticulously crafted into various shapes with multiple crochet and weaving techniques. These elements converge to evoke the season’s vitality and renewal. At the heart of “Sprung” lies the silhouette of a bunny, a timeless symbol of spring’s arrival and the natural world’s awakening. The rabbit’s form woven into the composition, its contours defined by the interplay of yarns, metallic, glittery patterns and other materials capture the fleeting sparkle of morning dew and Primavera’s dynamic energy. The diverse materials and techniques utilized in “Sprung” mirror the multifaceted beauty of spring itself—a season marked by bursts of color, texture, and life. The crochet patterns evoke the intricate designs found in nature, such as butterfly wings, while the metallic and glitter accents, much like raindrop prisms, add a touch of whimsy and celebration. Together, these elements create a cohesive narrative that honors the season’s spirit and the enduring symbolism of the rabbit.

“Sprung” invites you to experience the season’s long-awaited joy, offering a tactile and visual journey through the vibrant tapestry of spring.
