If there are less than 15 people able to attend your trip, you will need to book your tickets online individually on our ticketing page.
We require groups to book their self-guided trips 2 weeks out, and their guided trips 4 weeks out. If you want to visit and it’s closer than our requirements, you will need to book the tickets online individually on our ticketing page.
Yes! You are welcome to picnic here. However, we recommend being mindful of what time your students are accustomed to eating and keeping to that schedule when possible. In our experience, hungry students do not enjoy their programming as much as those who have eaten!
There is ample green space behind the Frist Learning Center. You are welcome to picnic in this space. We recommend bringing blankets or something to sit on, as we don’t have enough picnic tables to host a school.
School Groups – Admission is FREE for students, teachers, and the required chaperones. Additional adults can purchase their tickets individually on our ticketing page. If groups/adults are arriving via cars, they will need to pay the parking fee.

Yes, there is a cost for cars to park at Cheekwood. It is $5/car. Buses park for free.

Lunches can be stored on the first level of the Frist Learning Center or in your buses. We don’t have fridge space for lunches, but we do have room to put your coolers inside.
Cheekwood is committed to making its exhibitions, programs, and services as accessible as possible, and is actively working to make its grounds and facilities user-friendly. However, due to the historic nature of much of the gardens and mansions, some areas may present challenges to those in wheelchairs, or who have difficulty walking or climbing.
Field Trips are weather permitting. Field trips can be rescheduled as availability permits. For weather concerns or cancellations, please email [email protected].
