General School Program Frequently Asked Questions
If there are more than 60 people interested in your field trip, your group will need to split-up between multiple days.
If there are less than 15 people able to attend your trip, you will need to book your tickets online individually on our ticketing page.
If you want to schedule a visit and it is closer than two weeks away, you will need to book the tickets online individually on our ticketing page. We only take field trip requests two weeks or longer out from the visit date.
Yes! You are welcome to picnic here. We have a large lawn behind the Frist Learning Center you can use. Make sure to confirm with your field trip coordinator at Cheekwood if you want to picnic.
Admission is FREE for all students and teachers. Chaperones, non-school employees, are charged the group rate of $16/person.
No, there is not a cost for parking.
You are allowed to enter the mansion if you have made arrangements prior to your visit with the field trip coordinator.
Lunches can be stores on the first level of the Frist Learning Center. Unfortunately, we don’t have fridge space for all lunches, but we are happy to store them inside.
Cheekwood is committed to making its exhibitions, programs and services as accessible as possible, and is actively working to make its grounds and facilities user-friendly. However, due to the historic nature of much of the gardens and mansion, some areas may present challenges to those in wheelchairs, or who have difficulty walking or climbing.
Field trips happen rain or shine. When filling out your field trip request form, you will have to agree to our weather policy. If there is severe weather that is predicted or occurring during the time of your visit, Cheekwood will ask to reschedule your visit.
