Head Start TOTS Program

Inspired by Cheekwood’s longstanding TOTS program, our Head Start TOTS program will explore elements of nature, incorporating play-based learning with hands-on activities to inspire interest in arts, science, and reading.

This program will include a Cheekwood education staff member visiting Head Start teachers and students in their own learning environment. Students will enjoy story time with books complementing the lesson theme, followed by a hands-on-activity. The books and activity materials will then remain in the classroom for the class to keep. 

The classes will then have the opportunity to visit Cheekwood for a morning field trip. Students will explore the Bracken Foundation Children’s Garden and be encouraged to explore through the lens of education.
