An exploration into the world of artist Carmen Herrera

Beginning in May 2023, Cheekwood will be featuring five boldly colorful, geometric sculptures by Cuban-born, American artist Carmen Herrera. Join us to learn more about Carmen Herrera’s remarkable life, career, and artwork from Eric Birkle, Cheekwood’s curator. The group will brainstorm and share different ways to bring lessons from her life and from other previously overlooked women artists into your classroom. Capacity is limited.
Nature Based Learning
May 5, 2023 | 9 AM – 2 PM
Cost: $40
Join us for a day filled of learning and exploring! Cheekwood’s Education team will share engaging nature and plant-based activities to help reinforce classroom concepts touching on science, math, art, and literacy. Teachers will walk away with the confidence to engage their students in the outdoors while still meeting state standards. This workshop will take place both indoors and outdoors. Lunch will be provided. Capacity is limited.
