Ages 11-14
Calling all chefs in training! Campers will spend a week in the Cheekwood GROWS Garden harvesting fresh produce, digging deep into the biology of edible plants, and mastering culinary skills. Each day we will prepare recipes that highlight seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs and learn all about the science of flavor: what makes chili peppers spicy? Why are sun-ripened tomatoes so sweet? How do we use plants to make our food taste delicious? Campers will finish the week by using their new culinary knowledge to develop and test their own recipes.
*Campers will be cooking and eating in this camp and while we will work to accommodate food allergies to the best of our ability, we ask that you please take this into consideration when registering.
