No. Cheekwood does not provide any snacks or meals for campers. All campers must bring their own refillable water bottle and peanut and tree-nut free packed lunch if staying all day and snacks for half-days.
Yes! We are a peanut and tree-nut free camp. All staff members and campers must bring their own peanut and tree nut free meals and snacks to camp.
All campers should dress comfortably in clothes they don’t mind getting messy and wear shoes good for walking long distances. Please NO Flip Flops!
Consider wearing or packing clothes needed for being outside for long periods of time such as hats, bug bands, or a rain jacket. Also, please consider packing an extra set of clothes if your child is in the Age 5 camps or known to experience accidents.
Yes! Please fill out the waitlist form and read about our policies on our website.
Due to the high volume of requests and the dynamic nature of waitlists, we cannot provide you with an estimate of when or if your camper may be released from the waitlist.
All registrations can be completed online. Unless you are experiencing technical issues, please register through our website.
No. Currently, we do not offer early drop off or morning care. Campers must be dropped off within the designated window of 8:45 – 9 AM.
Yes! Every family has the option to add aftercare from 4 – 5 PM to their camper’s registration. Aftercare costs $50 per week per camper for members and $55 per week per camper for not-yet-members.
Cancellations made more than 30 days before the start date of camp will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 30 days before the start date of camp will receive no refund.
Our cancellation policy is uniform and applies to all camps regardless of whether or not they have a waitlist. We can never predict which camps will and will not have waitlists. If there is no penalty for withdrawing from a camp, our experience has shown that some families will “hold places” in a camp and then change their plans and withdraw at a much later date. By that time other families, who might have wanted that spot, will have made other arrangements and not be able to take advantage of the opening.
Yes! Any family interested in attending Summer Camp but to whom the cost may be a barrier is welcome to submit a scholarship application.
Depending on the age group, topic, and assigned classroom, our Summer Camp ranges from 10 – 16 campers per class. We purposefully keep class sizes small so that each camper may receive individualized and quality instruction.
Yes, we have a 48-hour illness policy. All campers must be free from fever and vomiting for 48 hours before attending camp. The 48 hours begin when your child last vomits or when the fever has broken and remains in a normal range. Cheekwood does not refund missed camp days in the event of illness.
Due to construction in our Cheekwood GROWS Garden (the source of our fresh produce used at camp) this coming summer 2026, and the lack of proper kitchen facilities (paramount to the safety of each student and the instructors), we have made the difficult decision to suspend all cooking camps. We want to provide the highest quality programming for all our campers and that means pausing to come back stronger in the future.
