Join Cecelia Tichi, Cheekwood’s Writer-in-Residence, and noted Nashville interior designer Mary Follin for an engaging discussion on how a socialite of the past would decorate her home and how that relates to the trends and décor of today. Edith Wharton, most widely known for her novels The Age of Innocence, The House of Mirth, and Ethan Frome, also published an interior design manual called
The Decoration of Houses
, with Ogden Codman Jr., the architect who designed her Newport home. Cecelia and Mary will be joined by Cheekwood’s President/CEO Jane MacLeod in the Mansion Recreation Room following a cocktail hour featuring a signature cocktail from the Gilded Age on Wisteria Arbor.
