Are tickets still available at the gate?
Unfortunately, this event is sold out. Tickets will not be available to purchase the day of the event.

Will protective viewing glasses be provided?
Yes, Cheekwood will be providing protective viewing glasses for visitors compliments of First Tennessee Bank, but feel free to bring your own pair. Not sure what eyewear is needed? Read our Viewing Tips for the Solar Eclipse.

Are your solar eclipse glasses safe to use?
Yes, our glasses come from American Paper Optics and are certified by NASA and the American Astronomical Society.  American Paper Optics glasses block out 100% of harmful ultraviolet rays. The glasses allow you to view the sun’s natural orange color.

Are chairs and blankets allowed?
Yes, chairs and blankets are allowed.

Will there be food available for purchase?
The Pineapple Room will be closed, but food trucks will be on site that day, including Two Thompsons, Il Forno Wood Fired Pizza, Florinda’s Cocina and Rita’s Italian Ice.

Will the Cheekwood Gift Shop be open?
Yes, the Mansion Gift Shop will be open as well as a Cheekwood Gift Shop kiosk set up in parking lot B with Solar Eclipse t-shirts, sundries and other souvenirs. The Pineapple Room Gift Shop will be closed.

Will there be music?
Yes, Sun Seeker will perform two live shows at 12:45 pm and 1:45 pm.

Can we bring our own picnic?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own picnic. Outside alcohol is not permitted and must be purchased on site.

Will there be drinks available for purchase?
Yes, bars will be set up in parking lot B offering beer, wine and cocktails. Water and soda are also available for purchase.

Is photography permitted?
Yes, photography is permitted.

What happens if it rains?
Cheekwood’s Solar Eclipse Viewing Party is rain or shine.

Will there be kid-friendly activities?
Yes, our education team will be helping kids make pinhole eclipse viewers and cyanotypes.

Are we streaming NASA?
Yes, we will be streaming the NASA feed in the Massey Auditorium inside of our Visitors Services building.

What time is Cheekwood open, and when can I start parking?
Cheekwood will be open 11 am – 4 pm. Parking and gates will open at 10:30 am.

Will we have to pay for parking?
There is a $5 parking fee on site for non-members. Off-site parking is free.

Where do I park?
Parking will be limited this day, so we encourage carpooling or the rideshare app Lyft using our special promo code “CheekEclipse” for 21% off.

On-Site Parking:
On-site parking will be available in parking lot A and in our overflow lots on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be $5 per car.  Cheekwood parking attendants will direct you to an available spot upon your arrival.

Off-Site Parking:
Off-site parking will be offered at no cost to guests. Two off-site lots have been secured off of Belle Meade Blvd., and we will shuttle guests continuously to and from the Cheek Road gate.
